Health is a great treasure. It is the richest possession mortals can have. Wealth, honour and learning are dearly purchased, if it be at the loss of vigor of health. None of these attainments can secure happiness if health is wanting.
Our Lord Jesus Christ came to this world as the unwearied servant of man’s necessity. He “took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses,” that He might minister to every need of humanity. Matthew 8:17. The burden of disease and wretchedness and sin He came to remove. It was His mission to bring to men complete restoration; He came to give them health and peace and perfection of character.
How to live a vibrant health
VIBRANT HEALTH is the indisputable foundation for the satisfaction of a life more abundant. Today, in spite of everything “modernized” and more or less streamlined, most people just THINK they are healthy because they can say: “Oh, I’m O.K., I’m fine, I have no specific complaints”. As a matter of fact there is a vast gulf between just feeling O.K. with no specific ailments, and experiencing VIBRANT HEALTH. If all false stimulants such as tobacco, alcohol, beverages, soft drinks, coffee, drugs, Sugar etc., were suddenly unavailable, I have often wondered how many people would collapse! These people have no concept of what VIBRANT HEALTH is, that kind of health that makes one feel literally intoxicated with LIFE, with the urge to do and to be beyond the capacity and limitations of any day’s efforts, with untiring energy, clarity of mind, unquenchable enthusiasm. One cannot possibly realize how unless he or she understand the true meaning of healthful living.
In order to have good health, we must have good blood; for the blood is the current of life. It repairs waste and nourishes the body. When supplied with the proper food nutrients and when cleansed and vitalized by contact with pure air, it carries life and vigor to every part of the system.
If we want to be healthy we must be ready to follow the simple divine health principles that God has encrypted in nature.
For one to be healthy, he must ensure that daily he breaths or lives in a place where there is pure air and can drink pure clean and soft water always half of the weight in ounces. Ensure matters of cleanliness of body and surroundings are followed. There is a great need to consider eating a proper diet of vegetables, grains, nuts and fruits preferably Non GMO and organically grown. Here, I see that we are in great need of learning on how to grow our own foods. We should always endevour to do a daily exercise which tends to sweating to help us in eliminating toxins though the pores of the skin. Purity of life, and a firm trust in God is needful to live a good health for our state of mind should always be knowing and firmly believing that it is God who created us and He’s willing to keep us in a perfect peace, restoring us from stresses of life that can deprave us and make us hopeless unto death. Take sometimes to be in the sun daily in order to get vitamin D which is essential for boosting immunity and enhancing life processes in your system. If we look keenly into life, we will find that, these are the simple remedies for the want of which thousands are dying of; yet they are at our reach with No costly outlay.
Common practices that will make you sick
- Eating between meals or snacking.
You should never let any food pass your lips between your regular meals. Eat what you ought, but eat it at one meal, and then wait until the next meal ( recommended after 5 -6 hours)
- Condition of the Mind at Meals.
At meal-time cast off care and taxing thought. Do not be hurried, but eat slowly and with cheerfulness, your heart filled with gratitude to God for all his blessings. Take your time to eat. This will ensure that the digestive enzymes and juices are released effectively into your Gut to ensure maximum digestion and absoprtion of the food eaten.
- Hasty Eating.
In order to have healthy digestion, food should be eaten slowly. Do not be hurried, but eat slowly and with cheerfulness, your heart filled with gratitude to God for all his blessings.
If more food is eaten than can be digested and appropriated, a decaying mass accumulates in the stomach, causing an offensive breath, and a bad taste in the mouth. The vital powers are exhausted in an effort to throw off the excess, and the brain is robbed of nerve force.
- Drinking at Meals.
Taken with meals, water diminishes the flow of the salivary glands; and the colder the water the greater the injury to the stomach. Ice water or iced lemonade, drunk with meals, will arrest digestion until the system has imparted sufficient warmth to the stomach to enable it to take up its work again. Drink warm water an hour before mealtime and two hours after mealtime.
- Liquid Foods.
Dry food that requires mastication is far preferable to porridges. The stomach always likes solid foods to ensure complete churning. If the food is not churned properly, fermentation develops in the stomach and this leads to toxicity in the blood.
- Very Hot Foods.
Very hot food ought not to be taken into the stomach. Soups, puddings, and other articles of the kind, are often eaten too hot, and as a consequence the stomach is debilitated. Let them become partly cooled before they are eaten.
- Cold Food.
I do not approve of eating much cold food, for the reason that the vitality must be drawn from the system to warm the food until it becomes of the same temperature as the stomach before the work of digestion can be carried on.
- Rich Diet.
Rich and complicated mixtures of food are health destroying. Highly seasoned meats and rich pastry are wearing out the digestive organs of children and the adults leading to cause of ulcers, acid reflux, gastritis and cancer of the colon e.t.c.
They irritate and inflame the delicate coating of the stomach leading to complicated diseases.
Spices at first irritate the tender coating of the stomach, but finally destroy the natural sensitiveness of this delicate membrane. Ongo, Royco mchuzi mix, Royco cubes are deadly. I prefer the natural fresh culinary herbs for they are beneficial for health.
- Soft Drinks.
Sodas, caffeinated drinks in any form should not be introduced into the stomach; for the effect is fearful. It eats the coatings of the stomach, causes inflammation, and frequently poisons the entire system.
- Living an unforgiving life and having bitterness in the heart.
This is very deadly. The moment we live with bitterness in our lives, the state of the mind is affected. Usually cortisol hormone is produced into the system. Continuous production of this hormone as a result of flight or fight response leads to toxicity in the system because of increased steroids in the blood.
Often prayer is solicited for the afflicted, the sorrowful, the discouraged; and this is right. We should pray that God will shed light into the darkened mind and comfort the sorrowful heart. But God answers prayer for those who place themselves in the channel of His blessings. While we offer prayer for these sorrowful ones, we should encourage them to try to help those more needy than themselves. The darkness will be dispelled from their own hearts as they try to help others. As we seek to comfort others with the comfort wherewith we are comforted, the blessing comes back to us.
